how do you use madoogs?

just picked up aoti recently and been playing hte offline, I got a madoog (or shadoog? one hunter can use) but it hasnt done anythign and I dont have any kind of use option for it, how do they work?

The hunter one is a shadoog.

Basiclly, its an automatic turret that hovers over your shoulder.
