    Flying over the north pole > flying over the Bermuda Triangle, in terms of danger. The Bermuda Triangle, just has freak weather no real mystery.

    It is a nexus point for currents. 3 or 4 different currents meet there (can't remember).

    If I'm not mistaken, I believe pockets of solid methane is underneath the surface. If the methane gets too hot, it sets off a chain reaction which evaporates some of the methane, which sinks any ships above it.

    Also, it caused a mass extinction just before the Mesozoic era.
