Yea my imagination is running wild but without evidence your imagining that "this is not new games or a dreamcast 2" we are in almost the same boat. They are asking for serial numbers AND checking them for accuracy so they want to know how many fans were fans so much to keep the console. Haha! I have TWO Dreamcasts.
Hopefully this is in lue of some sort of Emulator for the 360 or PS3. I can't really see Sega having any real interest in putting out any new hardware.

Seganet would be neat and all, but I never had a BBA for my Dreamcast and I'm not at all interested in scouring Ebay to get one.
I smell some sort of silly celebration for the anniversary of the Dreamcast. That's neat and all, but I wonder how many people still have them that work and weren't destroyed by PSO.

Still got mine, but not going to bother registering right now. I doubt there's much to it, and I don't really care anyway. And why the hell would anyone pay $500-$700+ for a console? You're more or less saying you'll be glad to get shafted(i.e. Fanboy talk: "I don't mind it's worth it!"). I don't mind a fair price, but people who gladly pay out the ass prices tend not to have living expenses or responsibilities.(and thus, really screw up the demographic for 'what people are willing to pay', thus you get outrageous PS3 prices)
Oh well, we'll see what this is all about anyway.
