That's Super Tails, he doesn't get to be Hyper, only Sonic and Knuckles get to do that.

um um but back then it was called Hyper Tails, anyways there was
never an official name for it.
oh wait you probably mean the hyper version is the one with the
afterimages?
Nope, there was only Super Tails. Even said so after you collected the emeralds.

Hyper Sonic is too fast... the levels can't keep up.
Going by the graphics of the game... (Shape of the emeralds) Shouldn't he have been called Hyper Sonic in every game after that...?

Hyper sonic changes color, has bigger sparkles, a hax clear the screen move and is faster and jumps higher than Super Sonic. ;o
The rest of the games call it good as Super.
