Post Microsoft plans on deleting lingering games on XBOX Live.

    http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/05/microsoft-dont.html

To sum up the article games that fail to reach a rating of 65 or higher, do not have a successful demo to full game conversion rate (with that rate being 6%) and has been on the market for more than six months will be deleted from the catalog of games.

Microsoft says they're putting quality of quantity. So, what do you think? Is this another bad move by Microcash or do you agree that unpopular games should die?

Meh. I thought it was kinda cool to meet new people on some of the games I actually liked to play via Live, or play with buddies. Kinda rough decision, but money is money.

I don't think this is that good of an idea. I mean, it's not like it takes that much effort for me to skip over Boogie Bunnies to get to Castlevania. I guess they could just be bandwidth/storage sinkholes but I still am not behind microsoft on this idea.

I'm indifferent. It might push Arcade developers to make better Arcade titles, instead of just doing the minimal work necessary to make it available.
Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire.

I'm on the fence aswell; on one hand I grimace at all the really shitty games that were tossed out and will forever be up there for the lazy dev/publisher to have the possibility to make money on, and yet on the second hand the shitty games aren't really 'hurting' anything.

In the end, I think the very bottom of the barrel stuff is what will be tossed out anyway, so it won't matter. Hopefully it'll give devs/publishers better incentive to make quality content and not just throw together something to cash in on over time.
    Look, he did it again.

So they're getting rid of outdated crap, how is this bad again?

I don't know of too many arcade titles that are still selling at all after six months anyway.

This is how I manage my own game library. In fact, in a few minutes, I'm leaving to go trade in some old games I don't care about so I can play RE4: Wii Edition.

I can totally see the benefit of Microsoft managing the Arcade like this.

You know, GameFLY is better option than trading games in like that. Game stores rip you off.
