How do you decide on your four characters?

This is partly something I'm curious about, but it might also help me make an important decision:

When making your four characters, do you prefer to make one of each race, or is there another factor in your decision? If there is another factor, please explain it.

I like to get by the strong points of characters..don´t like balanced. :P

So therefore i made 2 cast (one male and one female) instead of a human besides just beast and newman.

I haven´t really put any effort on my male cast as of now but...i made one cause they look very badass. :P

I have a Newman, CAST, and a slot for a Human I might level.

Beasts aren't my thing. The 4th slot is for joke characters.

I have a Male Human, Female Newman, and a Male Beast. Other than that, I have another Female Human whom I created just a while ago. I kind of play around with that 4th slot a lot though.

I ended up going with one of each race. I wanted at least one female on my roster as well, just for the sake of different looks/clothes/animations, etc.

At first I was never going to choose a beast because I thought to myself I wouldn't be able to handle the horrible ATA...but it's the class that makes the real difference in this case.

I basically took my 4 favorite characters from PSO and remade them, albeit with some changes.

I kinda wish that ATA would matter more so there would be more CAST characters around. :P

I currently have a female human, a female and a male beast, and female CAST, but I found that I miss having a newman, despite protests I've made in the past. I don't know who I would replace with said newman, though. I have reasons for wanting to keep all my characters, but I still think I want a newman, too.
