Thread: VMU Reset

Every time I turn my DC off, my VMU resets itself. It makes a loud beep, and then waits for me to reset its time and date. My character is fine, but this is really annoying. Anyone know what caused this, or how to fix it? Would pulling my memory card at the title screen risk character loss?

    Thanks

PS this happens to my friend also. I am not alone. we cant figure out what it is.

It is a possibility that your VMU batteries need to be replaced. I have been told that they don't last for an extremely long amount of time -- and even less if the VMU is not placed in 'sleep' mode when the DC is not running. Try replacing those batteries and see how it works. Warning: I don't know if taking the batteries out will blank the VMU's memory.

Change the batteries with CR2032's. This should help. Also, when the Dreamcast is powered off, take the VMU out of the controler to avoid draining the batteries.
