Rainbow units (Elemental Resist %)

i have been under the impression that rainbow units only affect the Element of the Line shield it is equipped on, is this right?, if that IS the case, if you wear a neutral line shield with a rainbow unit will that give you resistance to all elements?, another question i have is: If you wear a 50% line shield will it then become 68% if you equip a rainbow unit (legless/guardless) or does it cap at 50%.

It does not affect neutral line shields.
The armor will go to 68% if equipped with a legless/guardless. The new 68% is the old 51%, btw.

That is correct! So there's no point in using it on a neutral element line shield.
