Hey! Ok so I'm def thinking of getting one of these for my computer. I have a standard av capture device. There's only on catch, how does the video quality look? I'm sold on the screencaps, but 200 is a lot for just great looking screencaps.

As I said in the first post, I'm not well equipped for taking video.

The manual recommends an 8 HDD RAID to get uncompressed footage, which I don't have...

So I have to capture it compressed with the codec provided with the card. AVI motion JPEG.

Anyway, I took some video footage of me poorly fighting low-level enemies for you to see how the video quality compressed with motion JPEG.

    Here's a youtube link:

If you'd rather see the video without adding youtube's processing on top, here's a megaupload link.

I didn't compress the video further, so this is as raw as it gets. As you'll see, it's a bit grainy and blurry, but it's still much better than SD footage, I'd say.

If you have the equipment to captured uncompressed, the video quality will be perfect.

When I capture uncompressed footage, I get little better than a slideshow, but the image quality is perfect.

Question: Are these all raw photos you're giving everyone or are they touched up first?

I can definitely see why the population over there has held up so well as a console. It looks very clean and with the ability to actually see everyone in the lobby...imagine that.
Cheating is just an admission of personal inadequacy.

I don't really know what you mean by touched up, but I don't do anything particularly significant to the images.

I just convert them from the raw BMP to PNG or JPEG. Nothing else.

You could have pmed Mracless and asked him directly, instead of bumping a 4-month old topic.

Now that Mracless answers it himself, this is closed from disrupting the flow.
