Phantasy Star Universe Machinima Project

Myself and others on the PC/PS2 servers have been working on a Machinima for the past few months. It has reached the point where we have all our characters designed, an idea for where we want our story to go, and the first 5 episodes scripts written. So we feel it is time to go a bit more public with this. We want this to be a community effort so there are some positions we are opening up to the PSU community if anyone wants to be a part of this. So think of this thread as a Casting Call.

First of all we need some filmers. Some of us can film but when things get hectic we get slow down. Filming will be done on the PC side so playing on PC is a requirement for a filmer. If you film you would need to be able to maintain a constant 60 fps on the highest graphical settings, LOD settings 64/32/32, 1280x1024 resolution, and if possible forced 16x AF. So if you can run fraps with PSU on these settings without getting framerate drops, then this is a position for you. If filmers can also do Video Editing with something better than Windows Movie Maker that will be a plus.

Second we need Physical Actors, I will be posting our preliminary character designs on our forums in the next day or so. We would basically need people in game with characters of the correct race and body type who can then use makeovers and clothing changes to fit the designs. If you would be a physical actor you would need to familiarize yourself with the in game character emotes as that is how things will be acted out. Again this would require PC or PS2 players as that is where filming will be done.

Finally we will need Voice Actors. Again in the next few days I will be posting videos on Youtube. Each video will have a characters design and a bio of the character as well as links to scripts. To audition for the role of a voice actor you will simply post a video response with your audition recording. You can read off of a script or come up with your own or mix and match (Not all the characters have been written in scripts yet). Voices will be chosen on those who best fit the characters. The system you play on doesn't matter as a voice actor. So 360 people can be involved here.

EDIT: I have a solution for your screen cropping dilemma. Film it on the JP server. Supupdate added a feature to remove all of the HUD.

Well, I don't want to have to force people to move to the JP servers to do this. Though when and if we get the supplemental update, we'll change filming practices accordingly since we can then remove the HUD.

I can only record at 30 fps with max settings using Dxtory.

Well Cry0 on the official forums said he'd do it and also video edit for us. But it can never hurt to have more than one cameraman so you can be the second one.

Ok guys, character design shots are now up. So physical actors may begin preparing and auditioning. To Audition simply post your character screen shot in the Audition board on our forums.

That's odd, they are both working fine on the official forums.
