Well, I just made a JP PSN account to go on, I signed in and it just brought me back to the playmode menu. Did I do something wrong?

Right here, I had the same problem.
OK... I updated to 1.01, but it still kicks me off right when I sign in.
Is it just the fact that NA players cant go online?

Which version of P★P2 did you buy? UMD or PSN?
You don't need an email but you input your code in the same way. You'll find your code underneath the manual.
