Performing a Just Block allows for players blocking with a shield to do damage with the shield. If the shield has a status effect it has a chance of inflicting it just as any other weapon does.
A Just Block is blocking right before an attack hits you. It nullifies any damage you would have received and allows for you to counter.
A Just Block by a shield is the only block that inflicts damage from blocking.

If you block with a shield just before an enemy attack, it will reflect the damage and have you be invincible.

You can block with all two-handed weapons, but without a shield you will only make yourself invincible.

Indeed. Though it's early in the game I can kill things with just a Perfect Block and Counter alone. Compared to 4 hits, usually having to use up PP with that 4th hit or starting another 3 hit combo.
