"Beats" is the number on the bottom right of the screen of the screen when you open your menu. Heaven Punisher's special can only be used if the first digit is an even number (i.e. 000, 200, 400, etc.).
I remember when people thought beats influenced drop rates. My ex missis was one of those who were convinced that they did.
