Fan made Metroid 2 remake

Anyone else a huge metroid fan here or loved Metroid 2? AM2R (Another Metroid 2 Remake) is a project started back in January of 08 and still going strong by a single coder going by the name of DoctorM64. I've been following this since the beginning. The game aims to recreate Metroid 2 using an engine simliar to Metroid Zero Mission (and it's extremely close based on the demo). The game is being made using Game Maker 7 and will likely be PC only for now. With the release of a new demo coming soon I thought I'd post this here for anyone else that's a metroid fan.

- No estimated release date
- Game engine tweaked to play like M:ZM (built entirely from scratch)
- Enemy sprites are being redrawn
- Stackable beams
- Power-ups that weren't in the original will be added (like speed booster and power bombs)
- Improved enemy AI
- Configurable controls

I still remember the days when I played this game and BAM! A metroid appears and the freaky tune played. Really scared the hell out of me when I was younger.

Yet another game with bursting potential. I have never played Metroid 2, but have always wished to try it sometime. The remake project is very juicy. I kept up with it long ago, but it seems I lost touch with it. I'm eager to try this.

Whats with all these high quality fan remakes/projects all of a sudden?? First that Megaman X project, then the Sonic Fan Remix, now this. Don't know where they're all coming from, but I'm lovin it (bada ba bah ba). This looks top notch

Rapidshare seems to be the only one that worked for me...

32:12.21 with 18/25 items. Not bad for a first run. I really didn't feel like bombing every corner to find the items. I downloaded expecting there would be a hidden alpha metroid battle. I was disappointed... but at least there's an unexpected boss in there.
