Actually, Rondo is acclaimed(?) to be one of easiest of classic style Castlevania. Many fans of classic style stated that Rondo's difficulty is no where near as Super Castlevania IV.

Of course, that doesn't mean the game is easy, but compared to its predecessors it certainly is not hard.
