This comes from "Hairspray" and serves as the opening. The most amazing thing to this song is that this singer is about to "talk" and hold her pitches between Legato (Slow and smooth flow) and stacatto (fast and detached) notes.

Things to look for:

Listen to how the singer retains her voice even at the upper octaves within her range. In these passages she narrows her voice, without her voice decaying. This is a singing technique that is very hard to master. Requires a lot of training.
