Thankfully, the purchases I've made was done by PSN vouchers, and not by credit cards.
But still, having anything of this nature is a scary thought.

Guess I'll be making a trip to the bank tomorrow then. Way to take precautionary measures sony. They likely knew from the outset of the intrusion that stolen information was very possible, yet waited 7 days to inform anybody. I have a lot of stuff linked to that email too. What the hell.
Well, since I can't remember my psn password (maybe they could help me with that ), I'm off to change my pass for 20 other sites
Apparently credit info hasn't been taken, but it does worry me about the other information that most likely has.

Noted. I don't have netflix though - was simply highlighting a method to vagabondkitten that I've heard others have used to gain access.

Well, it seems the news came out while my side of the world was sleeping. With CC data, it's probably a better idea to be safe than to be sorry and just cancel it, regardless of what Sony is saying. I don't think we can trust Sony to ever be fully upfront with much from now on.
I am very glad that both my PSN account and my brother's is full of useless data, and that I have never chosen to use a CC instead of a prepaid card. With regards to Sony, fortune favours the paranoid it seems.
I shall keep wary of spam emails coming over that channel now.

lol sony fails i get this in a e-mail lol
Although we are still investigating the details of this incident,
we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following
information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country,
email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login,
and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data,
including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip),
and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may
have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your
dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have
been obtained. While there is no evidence at this time that credit
card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have
provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity,
out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit
card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have
been obtained.
this is why prepaid cards are the best for this stuff lol
^Even if you use prepaid cards, you still lost a lot of important information.
I canceled my card yesterday anyways, seems the bank was all too aware of sony's massive screw up. Receiving a replacement soon enough for that not to be a HUGE risk. I just need to memorize a new number now :/ .
Looking at this situation half-full, the brightest side to all of this is that our SIN numbers are safe. Cause they got pretty much everything else..... Enough that they might even be able to pass as you at the bank (nevermind other places). They don't ask that many questions for verification.
prepaid visas no bank visits or bank information to be had by hackers lol and my bank requires photo id if you don't have all information tho i only deposit what i am willing to part with banks are crooked enough already lol
OH by the way breaking news if they don't get your card number they send you a bogus text message(unless of course you gave Sony a landline phone number ) I learned this just this morning when I told my mother how big Sony had screwed up and she told me she had gotten a text last week saying she had won a $1000 gift card of some sort, but in order to get this fake card you had to enter your CC info. So I think it is safe to say that they got your CC info.

I am a HUcast to know what you are take the quiz here.
lol stuff like that is why i don't have a mobile phone. I just hope people are smart enough not to fall for that and give that info away.
To be on the safe side, I had a new card reissued as well. It only sucks a little since I barely ever had my CC info used for regular payments anywhere else. So outside of a little wait, I don't have to update a bunch of data in other places.
