New to PSU JP servers

Hey, I'm new here so i'll start with with a hello lol

So, I followed this guide

And now i take it im a free player, but with restrictions (makes sense), i plan to upgrade to a full player eventually, so that means buying a game key and paying monthly, which isnt a problem.

My problem is that i dont really know much about what being a free player en-tails. I know i cant have a room and cant pick up things / trade with other players, but is that it?

Anyway I'm new here, Character name is ｴﾘｵﾝﾈﾙ, and yes, i know a bit of japanese (helped me sigh up it did lol)

Would love to play with others and learn more about the game, as i take its VERY different from the xbox servers from a few years ago lol

I thought "no rooms" and "no trading" wouldn't be so bad until I realised that it means there are no player shops (pretty self-explanitory), so cheap lowbie equips are out of the question. It also means you can't synthesise anything, and because of that you also can't upgrade anything unless you just so happen to get a premade grinder from a mission reward or somesuch.

As you know a bit of Japanese you will probably do okay partying with randoms, but for me there's no such luck... I know about four of the seemingly endless number of moon runes, can just about pick out character names from prose, and don't think that other people should have to lower themselves to my level by speaking my language, hence I don't join parties; I only host open parties with comments such as "English player! New to server! Please be nice!" and such.

With all the restrictions, it's actually a bit of a pain. When I made my lowbie account on Western PSU, I went from 0 to 5 mil in an evening just buying low and selling high, and that set me up more or less for the forseeable future. No such luck on Free Course JP. Worse still, I joined just after the "training" weapons were released, the training sangeyasha, guld milla prototype etc. They're strong and would make my life a hell of a lot easier, but noooooo.

Well no synthesizing isn't much of a problem, most stuff drops already made.

I actually know absolutely no Japanese except for memorizing the 12 shortcuts and I do fine with randoms as long as it's a simple "kill" mission. I actually haven't been kicked yet by anybody, it goes well to check party descriptions though for things like "JP Only."

Actually found this 2 days ago, http://forum.psupedia.info/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=526 for on the fly chat translations. So for players who can't understand Japanese this is really useful.

Aah, i never really synthesized that much anyway, so being unable to really doesnt seems like much, but no player shops? grrr, i love shopping lol

The limitations from playing for free:
- No access to the room, that means no Partner Machine, no synthesis, no player shops and no titles (free course players can still use the common box storage though, which are accessible through NPC shops).
- No trading or catching drops from other players.
- Can't access premium course specific universes (for now I think they're only uni 7 and 8, but once they add the other universes back, it'll probably change back to universes 9 to 16).
- Can't do the extra story missions (like Innocent Girl) and story subplots.
- Can't do rare missions.
- Can't use the advanced customization options (GAS).
- Free course players may only receive 1 Daily Stamp instead of 5.
- Free course players may only receive 50 bronze per day at the casino, instead of 1 silver + 50 bronze.

I think that's everything.

Can't run Innocent Girl.

Can run Passport to Subspace
Can't pass items to E2 unless you get a friend to stay on a mission as u drop something with E1 and change back to E2 for pick up. (won't work with account bound for obvious reasons)

Ahh, one more question, which entrance should i be playing on? one or two? my character is on 2 atm, but ill make a char on 1 if thats where everyone plays lol

It makes no difference because it's only a character slot but my advice is to have all your regular characters on the same side. It's more convenient to change PA between char since you can't drop them or change it to the other entry once it gains paexp.

Alright, so havin a char on entrance 2 doesnt matter, thanks...was startin to wonder if i messed up lol
