The only reason we had it in PSO was because the game was getting an upgrade. Remember that at first, the insane level cap was 100, and the hardest difficulty was Vhard. Then V2 dropped with Ultimate Mode, and no other re-release ever had as big of a jump between the difficulties.

That being said, yes. I would love another ultimate mode. I loved the fact that my expectations of being the big cheese in Vhard were crushed once I saw that boomas were no longer as cuddly as they were before. PSU captured that a bit, and I'm sure we'll see some of it here. I just want to know that my level being increased means more than just bigger numbers.

The more difficulty tier the better the climb to the top is. Should never be just easy and hard.

They should add random wake up calls too lol.

Ultimate was just something to add to version2. I would love for it to come back but honestly I don't see it coming.

Personally, I'm hoping they don't do the PSU method of "ultimate" difficulty, as A, S, S2, and S3 all felt redundant. The enemy change in PSU actually occurred at enemy level 50, which was A rank. And then they continually weakened the A and S rank versions of the modified enemy as higher difficulties were added.

In PSP2, they reduced it back to four difficulties, with S rank being the equivalent of "ultimate." Though that was a better step, it still had the issue with enemies changing in A or even B rank, long before the high difficulty missions. Of course, the enemies did get faster and significantly more powerful in S rank.

But, to answer the question, I do expect it to appear in some form toward the later parts of this game. I expect it to go about the same as it always has - a few common/well known enemies changing and many of the less frequent ones remaining exactly the same and all the combat events sped up.

Whatever that mess they had on PSU sucked hairy bean bags. They need to bring back the PSO difficulties.

Would love some kinda of extra gimmick happening in the hardest difficulty.
Maybe not having completely new enemies, but make the regular enemies shinier or darker in appearance and give them a huge boost in speed and attack range to show that they are quite different.

    Also, make Rifles more useful.
I love how good they were in PSU, but not in PSP2/Infinity.
Mostly because the knockdown effect were removed for regular shots and replaced with a very PP heavy shot that may knockdown (useless IMO).
I donīt really see the reason for that considering how cheap that CB II is on Shotgun. >.>.

I donīt mean them to implent anything to cheap, but something other then pure damage..
Maybe a confuse attack that makes them go berserk on their bretheren for a minute or so.
That way leaves option for a personal army against big enemies that wonīt be effected. =)

"Normal, Hard, Very Hard, and Ultimate," or "C, B, A, S, S2, and S3?" Really, the fuck does it matter? As long as the game has SOME sort of logical difficulty curve, either through different areas or being able to set difficulties, or both, and provides some sort of challenge, then I don't really care what the hell it's called. Wanting them to bring back "Ultimate Mode" in particular... that just sounds like nostalgia-fanboyism talking to me - like saying "ZOMG Sonic shouldn't have green eyes," etc. Now, if it were CHALLENGE Mode, then yeah, I'd be all for that making a comeback, because it was actually a UNIQUE gameplay mode that I haven't really seen in other games. But again, if they wanted to call it "Survival Mode" or "X difficulty," etc., then I wouldn't be messed up about it. People are just getting upset over trivial details instead of being concerned with the actual gameplay, which we still have yet to experience first-hand.

That aside, I'd still like to see all the monsters go through some significant change on whatever the highest difficulty is. And no, that wasn't unique to PSO's Ultimate Mode - PSU had it too on S+ difficulties, although not as great an extent (such as PSO's lolreskinned maps). But yeah, something to give players a WTF wake-up call and keep them on their toes.
