Pre-Open-Beta with existing SEGA ID

Hi there,

This looks like the link for those with an EXISTING SEGA ID to add the beta service to their account:

Only problem is, how do we get past the security check without a japanese keyboard/brain!

Anyone got any tips?
I'd love to use my existing ID and not re-register.

I was told that if you already registered for PSO2 on your SEGA ID
(Which is what you had to do for the Closed Beta anyway)

Then you don't have to do anything to participate in the Pre-Open Beta.

Now if you haven't done that yet then this should help you.

Just match the symbols you see in the box from the select symbols and copy and past those symbols in the line...

Generally isn't hard just a trial and error.


Since there's a thread in relation to the Pre-Open Beta, I'd recommend this be put in the original one.

just FYi you don't NEED a japanese keyboard, you can setup your PC to let you type out japanese but it'll be like
for example to type　ひらがな　(hiragana) you switch the input language to japanese and type out "h i r a g a n a" and it'll convert it into the actual japanese characters, or even kanji if you want it to.
same works for Katakana btw
but then again all of this requires a little japanese knowledge.

I wasn't accepted into the Beta, I was invited in. I haven't received any e-mails on the pre-open beta. Should I just assume that I'm in?

After trying out some things, I figured it out for those who have a SegaID but hasn't registered for the beta yet.
Go to the registration site:

click the link where you see it


or just use this (it's the same thing):

From there, you put in your SegaID, password, and do that damn captcha (make use of this site to help with that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katakana). Once that's done, you'll have to agree to the terms of service, click the top button and you'll be set for preOB.

For inputing those hiragara in the checking, you can use Japanese IME in windows 7, if not you may use this:

From the image above , from the drop down list it should be a IME Pad on the first option, where you can use the mouse to draw a Japanese text and select one from choice of its recognize, then the Japanese you draw in text can be input into the system.

I would also like to know this. Even though we were invited by players instead of Sega, we still had to register on the website before it let us play just like anyone else, so I'm guessing we're good.
