Yeah, because I can totally tell when RNG is going to slap my ass to the curb for the whole week. Quartz soul also varies from 1.7mil all the way up to 3mil depending on time of day so it's not that cheap which is why doing it this way is, statistically, much cheaper. Building your stat3s on target is much cheaper during 10% boost.

One could say the entire appeal of boost week is to allow you to partially bypass the rng and get a complete 100% on your final affix. It certainly can be cheaper to do your final affix with however many 70/80/90% you feel like, but I'd rather take failure on fodder over failure on my base unit even if it costs me extra to be sure of it.

Arksenth pretty much nailed it, and I agree with it and do my affixing accordingly:

Or perhaps 30-50% of the cost invested to guarantee success.

Please tell me, how much do you lose per attempt? (including all fodders and final affix)

I'm going for 5s soon also, but Idk if I have enough meseta for multiple fails in a row because i have shit luck at affixing too.

This is like the one thing I enjoy doing in this game. If you asked me why, I wouldn't be able to tell you. But all I know is that doing this was really refreshing.

I'm saving the last one, since you never know when you'll accidentally complete it. I'll need to wait a few weeks before the next matterboard is translated when it comes out anyway, so I'll just complete it then.

Actually, I've seen that particular spawn twice to be honest. The thing is, taga has a chance of spawning 4 times in the same spot just like other enemies. So it seems unlikely, but because of the ways he's allowed to spawn then if he *does* spawn there's a chance of that.
