They're items, just like parts you can buy in NPC shops. The only difference is how they're obtained.

Fortunately, not many players play male casts, or at least not many that like to play dressup. So those of us that do play refrigerator dressup get cheap parts from the flooded markets!

Also, check out the CV variants. They alternate the lighter and darker colors, some of them look pretty good.
