How patient are you being? With the 12th September update, the updating is going to take hours. Did you check to see if it is actually downloading any files?

Also, to let you know, the fact that it is where it is shows that pso2launcher.exe, pso2updater.exe and pso2download.exe have no issues with permissions. You also chose the wrong item on the permissions dialog, it is Administrators that governs the permissions that PSO2 sees.

He downloaded the game yesterday, it's not the 5gb update.
But it could be the 80mb update we got some days ago.
It would be great if he could get this fixed before subclasses.

    Two posts...

Anyway, where did the OP write that the installer was downloaded yesterday or that the version of the installer used included the new class stuff?

It is bad to assume anything based on posting dates, and from what I can tell, the downloader available off of the SEGA website is giving people trouble. So it is just as possible that the OP used one of the unofficial versions of the game that are around, and that would still require a hefty update.

Well, as you should know, spoken languages like English are imprecise, and there may be subtle implications or assumptions that don't actually hold true.

Anyway, as I already pointed out, checking the size of the game directory and whether it is actually transfering files would be preferred here. I also haven't checked the new setup package to see if it required any additional updates. So it could be that there are a few out of date files even in the new version of the setup package.

But the new version of the setup package is downloading now, so I'll know for sure in around an hour and a half. (It is 7.7GB, so at the rate limit that SEGA has put on it, it is taking hours to download).

No it wasn't, but I guess that is a common mistake amongst people who don't really know computers.

The size, in megabytes (as the downloader shows) is 7,930.28MB. This isn't 7.9GB, it is 7.74GB. Unlike SI units, bytes aren't multiples of 1,000. A kilobyte isn't 1,000 bytes, it is 1024 bytes, a megabyte is 1024 kilobytes and so on. So to get the size in gigabytes from megabytes, you divide by 1024, and 7,930.28 divided by 1024 is 7.744...(lots more numbers), hence it would be 7.74GB (or 7.7 to 1 decimal place).

    Explorer agrees with me too:

    *Edit*

After getting this new version of the client installed, I can say for sure that it is more than the 19th September update that it requires. As of writing it has downloaded ~100MB of files and it has only filled a small fraction of the progress bar. So the OP could just have a really slow connection to Japan and the files are downloading, but at a really slow rate.

Oh well, that's great, you got the size right, but how does that help him fix his issue at all?
