Ya know when you're tired you feel like your head is full of cotton.

I think it works like this. As the day goes on your brain produce cotton balls that stuff up your head. When you sleep your brain scretes brain juices and dissolves the cotton so you wake up feeling refreshed.

And the cycle goes on.
