I'm going to be trying to turn an inevitable heartbreak into something that makes me stronger to the best of my ability. I'm going to discipline myself to organize my time better and "punish" myself in a way for not sticking to the schedule. I also want to keep a consistent work out schedule going into the New year as well as other stress relieving hobbies.

Most importantly, I'm going to do my best with what my job necessitates and provide amazing coverage in the months to come and aim to be happy.

To come out of this year a better, improved person than I entered it as. That's my goal every year and my life is a constant journey of self-improvement.

Also, to not be eaten by bears or fall into a pool of acid.

To be even more awesome than I already am. Which is gonna be hard, but hey, I like a good challenge.

Cold as winter, guns of summer. Point and watch them run.

New Years Resolutions are stupid. Why wait for the new year to pursue a goal and/or betterment? Get something in your sights and go for it. I don't see why anyone has to wait until January 1st, _____ to do those things.

Yeah, I don't see the point in New Year's resolutions. If you're actually resolved to make a change in your life, then every single day is a new chance to turn things around. If you're the type to put off change until a "special" day gives you permission or excuse, then you're probably not very resolved on the issue and will never carry it through.

At any rate, this year I really want to fill out my Defectio ab Ecclesia catholica actu formali, which is a fancy way of saying "formal defection". I was baptized without my consent, and as such I'm still considered a registered Catholic. I don't want my name associated with the church (or any church), or used by the religious lobby in their constituency to push misogynistic and homophobic "moral legislature". The only thing stopping me is that doing so will break my mom's heart. So I may put it off until after she passes, because I don't trust the Church to keep the matter discrete.

Scratch that, just found out that the church isn't allowing voluntary defections anymore. If I want out, I'm going to have to desecrate the host or do something major to get excommunicated. =/
