Having read up some now, I can definitly say Spoiler! ]the defininte parallel between Madoka/Homura and Matoi/Persona are sorta bullshit. Persona being a time travelling hero trying to save Matoi from becoming the PD screams so much to madoka that it just like is whaaaaaaaat.
