Tough decision...

I'm in a bit of a bind right now.

I have both versions of PSO on the Dreamcast, having Ver.2 first, where my lvl 103 HUmar rests. I am thinking of starting with a clean slate, but I don't know if I want to delete my current character (max meseta, some rares, etc), or possibly switch to Ver.1 and start with a new character. I've only played Ver.1 a couple times, only to make sure it worked. And should I stick with what I know, or start with a different character class?

I don't see why you would prefer v1 over v2 since the later one has the same content as v1 (99,9% of it).
Get a new memory card and start a new char or keep playing the one you have now.

Stick with V2. That way you get Ultimate difficulty

I've already played in Ultimate. Defeated Vol Dragon and got halfway through the Caves. Even with my current equipment, it's rather cumbersome.
