Well the difference is that while Ranger doesn't have much else, Braver has a perfectly serviceable and not much weaker second option that lets you use Bow efficiently for whatever else other than hitting weak points and lets you use melee options to a decent degree too.
So it's totally inexplicable to me too.

Weak Stance as a whole is pretty much dead IMO. At the very least, WS Up and WS Charge need higher multipliers than their average counterparts. I guess it serves its purpose on FOs still.
But still, you can't just look at it like 33% vs 57% and say "Average is pretty close" since you miss out on the normal headshot bonus.

I guess it could possibly see a niche revival if Banish Arrow stuck onto parts tallied up damage dealt on Weak Points so you could simultaneously break the part while hitting the weak point. Did anyone test this yet? I would but I can't play until later today.
And yeah, but you can still get the normal headshot bonus with Average Stance too. You just don't NEED a headshot, and you're 1hkoing with average stance without a headshot bonus on normal mobs anyway while you can't do that with weak stance.

I did the Base Defense EQ a couple times and got nothing but gunslash PAs

Alright, done.
(No gear / Gear)
lambda kalishizm +10, 901 satk (841 w/o affixes)
1807 / 2097 = 16%
roundeet +0, 225 satk (no satk affixes)
1311 / 1403 = 7%
Odd.
Well, it's definitely not 20% of your combined satk. So that was wrong.
200/901 = 22%
92/225 = 41%
nope
200/841 = 24%
92/225 = 41%
nope (obviously)
Well the only other thing that's different is the grind
200/443 = 45%
92/225 = 41%
Okay I dunno
Google translate says the JP wiki says
Okay I dunnoWas increased about 30% basic striking force that does not include the correction due to special abilities and equipment, critical rate also increases.
Maybe it's base stats + weapon stats? The weapon has to come into play, since the roundeet offered a smaller gain than the lambda kali.
I did two runs and got a negafoton.
Also the two PAs but-
Anyway, back to this. Right now the key PAs seem to be Kanran, Hatou, and Shunka. These cover your bases for large AOE, medium range + boss killing, and point blank damage & pursuit respectively. Other PAs have uses, but right now they're more or less eclipsed by those three. Tsuki is nice because it lifts you, making it very useful against some targets that may be blocked by other hitboxes for hatou (like quartz wings can be by his arms), but that's the gist of it.
Exactly how hatou and shunka interact and which will be best when isn't something I can say yet since A. I haven't used shunka enough to compare numbers yet and B. my shunka is level 9 while my hatou is level 15, so if hatou outperforms it right now that might not be the case on even levels.
