Br/Ra is really one of the stronger bossing classes in the game, while mooking is questionable and it's a class ill advised for any content focused on it. it's my personal favorite class since all I do lately is boss and Sharp Bomber even as Br/Ra mooks well enough in SH for DOs that I just don't care anymore, non weak ring on an all class-launcher helped with solo mobbing anyways.

It's also a great class choice to take into a magatsu since a MPA for it either has weak bullet or you abandon for one that does, so Weak Hit Advanced will pretty much be a passive. Sharp as noted above is definitely a beauty to have, and at magatsu Penetrating arrow filled banishing combos foten wind up going one-million damage or higher easily on any good 13* bow. And 9 times out of 10 I usually top parsed only losing to an occasional well skilled Fi/Hu using knuckles.

While I am on only a Seiga Bow (Which is pretty much a bit under Austere with a 11% damage potential) a Br/Ra works best with an orbital Bow whose potential is 13% Damage as well as has a nice side boon to your PP regen on attack which synergizes extremely well with Rapid Shot for some crazy PP regen rate as well as "Divine Raikou" bow at potential 3, you don't need to grind it anymore after you get potential 3 and it can just be sitting at +0, but at potential 3 having it equipped at the time of using Rapid can reduce it's cooldown to around 19 -24seconds depending how moody my internet is and it does stack with rapid shot's cooldown reduction passive.

The plan basically is to Rapid Shot with Divine Raikou in hand, switch to orbital, stick banishing onto the boss on a body part that won't break anytime soon and either A. Sharp Bomber->UNCHARGED Pen Spam if the target is to small for penetrating Arrow to 'double hit', generally most boss faces fit this. or B. Charged Pen->Uncharged pen Spam on targets that Penetrating Arrow will hit multiple times, which is pretty much everything on a magatsu and other 'large' weak points. You'll learn these in experience and sometime double hits will even depend on position and the pose the mob is in at the time.

Sharp Bomber as your only PA choice might make Br/ra appear 'junk' but even type-0 Sharp Bomber isn't exactly it's bread and butter, it's utility for dodging and banishing starts, Penetrating arrow is far superior as a banishing filler after that or even ignoring sharp outright and making your first banishing hit a charged pen.

SBt0 is what bbow users needed, it's almost guren of bbow, cheap unlike all other shooting bbow PAs, good against trash, has iframes on startup and extra mobility as a bonus (no superarmor afaik). SBt0 is superior BA opener in terms of damage but you lose SS bonus so it's only really useful when you're too close to enemy so you use it to both do damage and get into doublepen distance, otherwise its cheap'n'effective alternative to penspam when you don't want to burn too much PP or boss is too mobile for doublepen. Another thing worth noting is that you can shoot the ground with it and the explosion goes up potentially hitting the head/weakpoint that was protected by another body part, also against higher priority weakpoints (like magatsu cores) you can hit simply near it.

SBt0 worth at mobbing is that if you hit the head of the tallest mob you usually hit heads of other mobs around it killing all of them or heavily damaging them, after all it's a very strong PA that gets both weakpoint bonus and superior weakpoint skill multipliers. It's also easy to lock some mob and do frontal SBt0 so that you go above its head for easy headshot. It is inferior to Kamikaze for BrHu because its dps is lower, about 880 with bbow skills which BrHues usually lack.
From what BrRa lacks in mobbing vs RaHu lawnchair, it makes up for in mobility, if you don't guren cancel, you're not using 100% Br.

Speaking about BA, it explodes from damage done to that enemy, doesn't matter if it's the part with BA or not, that means you can, for example, BA magatsu face/arms and attack core/knees(magatsu ex-adventurer now) to break face/arms. This works very nicely when you want to destroy non-weakpoint, that includes guranz guns or falz angel another arm.

Just use RaHu or FoTe if you want top necky, BrHu with SBt0 when you can guren+warcry+sakura is a disgrace.

Just a quick question for my Kat/Bow BR/HU:

I almost have the stones for an Austere katana, but should I hold out for the next set of 13* Astra series and/or 14* weapons? I know the likelihood of getting a 14* is a thread at best, but I can't help feeling like blowing the stones on an Austere katana now would be a huge waste with stronger weapons on the horizon. Maybe I should get the Austere bow instead?

I'm currently using a Yamigarasu katana and an Edel Arrow bow if that helps with making that decision.

Personally, I'd wait and see how the Astra weapons are, and decide after. 14*s are a crapshoot and shouldn't be seriously considered yet.

Yeah, I thought about it some more and figured I'd just wait since the Astra series is apparently supposed to be stronger than the Austere series. May end up getting a different Austere weapon if Astra isn't too difficult to grind out. Thanks for the input!

astra will be easier to get than austere by a mile. you should be fine getting them.

Is Br/Hu with a bow doable or is that more of a "Use katana and bow" sort of thing? I'd like to be able to specialise in bows without relying on weak points so much.

It's doable, but losing katana is really terrible for mobbing in general. Not to mention that even with HU sub, you'll be wanting to hit weakpoints whenever possible to maximize your damage output, and Kamikaze makes it actually a lot harder than hitting weakpoints with BR/RA PAs.
