If you played PSP2i, then you should already know there were dewmans or if you had tuned into any source of info especially info on Episode 2 then you may have had more clue on dewmans.

In infinity they where SEED-infected humans.

In PSO2, as blace said, they are humans infected/experimented with darkers.
