How exactly do resistances compare to plain HP and DEF? What I really want to know is, is it worth crafting my Saiki set for the bonus HP recipe?

    Uncrafted: 960 S-DEF, 846 R-DEF, 999 T-DEF, 150 HP, 12% striking resistance, 12% ranged resistance, and 24% ice resistance.
    Crafted: 1008 S-DEF, 924 R-DEF, 924 T-DEF, 300 HP, 12% striking resistance.

What do you guys think about this? It'd obviously be better crafted for striking attacks, but what about ranged attacks, tech attacks, and ice attacks? Is it worth it overall to craft it, or should I just leave it as it is?

Partly depends on how much HP you already have. Without using enemy attacks for reference, resistances can basically be calculated as HP * 1.xx, with xx being the resistance %. Assuming an average HP of 661 (which is the average between a Fo/Te female Newman and a Hu/Fi male Cast, with no SP invested),

    Saiki: 661 + 150 * 1.12 = 908.32
    Saiki (Ice): 661 + 150 * 1.24 = 1005
    Saiki (no res): 661 + 150 = 811

    Crafted Saiki: 661 + 300 * 1.12 = 1076
    Crafted Saiki (no res): 661 + 300 = 961

The main two resistances to look at are striking and ranged, as they are the most common two attack types in the game. Uncrafted Saiki is inferior to crafted Saiki for those two, so it's a clear winner. Ice attacks are almost non-existent, with the only notable one being the ones Elder uses, and those are easy to dodge for the most part, so they're no big deal.

Episode 3 may as well be titled "Force and her Adequate Friends."

Oh hey, it's episode 1 all over again. Do fire forces still reign supreme?

Most technics got a nice buff with Episode 3 to make every element most desirable against enemies vulnerable to it, but yeah, Fire is still pretty big with TD and all.

For the mining base EQ, you can tell how fast the party will go based on how many Forces are there. Often with no Forces you will fail completely. Yesterday I failed a TD3 because of course, only one Force (who was using Wind). (and no Rangers)
