In general, Light is one of the better elements since most EQs are Darker based; also, keep in mind that if you aren't maxing your weapon's element, you are severely nerfing your damage since total elemental % adds a general (hidden) ATK bonus. (The formula is Weapon Displayed ATK+(Elemental% x Weapon Displayed ATK)=Actual ATK. Just looking at the base S-ATK at max grind for both, the 30% Yamigarasu will actually have 1677 S-ATK, while the 20% Ray Katana will only have 1548, and if the Ray was maxed at 60% it would actually have 2064 S-ATK.)

Ray Katana. The amount of raw S-ATK it has over the Yamigarasu outmatches the higher multiplier.
Also, as a side note, I just realized I made a little mistake; the 30% Yamigarasu would be 1365 S-ATK (not sure how I got the 1677), so a 50% would only be 1575 S-ATK.

Did you check if your Item Translation was activated in Tweaker?

Some Patches get broken for the first day or so after an update. This is especially true if new content was added. Check back in a day or two.

Astral Soul only has a 10% success rate with Soul Receptor.
