Yes, extended units all share the same defense stats that only change with the recipe's level.

Because Hairstyles, Head Parts, and Voice Tickets can be used on Support Partners. If I recall correctly, Pre-Ep.2 it would blank out unusable tickets for your race/gender, but since you can make, say, a Male CAST Support Partner on a Female Newman, they are flagged as usable. Why they haven't added a filter for gender specific heads and hairstyles is beyond me.

The Blitz set is pretty good until you can get something better; it has a Set Bonus of +60 S-/R-ATK and +10PP, and it is only two pieces [(リア／ブリッツシンボル) Rear/Blitz Symbol and (アーム／ブリッツサイン) Arm/Blitz Sign, which uncrafted have an innate +30HP and +3PP each], so you can use a Leg Unit that has the stats you want, like a Leg/Ing Plate (or any HP crafted Leg unit) for +100HP.
