Just got the PS4 Pro and downloaded PSO2. I started the game, and noticed an installation progress bar on the top right (I assume for all the updates). Rather than risk losing the progress on the installation by trying it out myself, I figured I may as well ask first: Is it possible to leave PSO2 running in the background so it can continue to install while I do something else on the PS4?

Yup. PSO2 will just install on its own, so you can do whatever. At least, as far as I know.

It's been a while, so I can't remember if the installation bar is tied to the system or the game. If it's tied to the game, then you can't close it.

Quick question about Hunter skills: Do Flash Guard 1/2 and Flash Tech Guard work with active Fury Stance?

The skills themselves do not state "while in guard stance", so I assume they are always on. The swiki doesn't say one way or the other though -- they probably think it's obvious

Unfortunately, your only 3 options are

-rush free field runs til you get your burn draal. no resources spent, but the drop pool from a burn draal in these conditions is abysmally low, so you'll need some serious luck
- spam SHAQ : expands caps and burn draal won't always appear, but when it does, it's almost always with a max boost core, meaning it gets a huge drop pool, so more chances to get it.
-wait for Valentine's EQ : tons of Vol dragons and Rare enemy boost means you'll meet quite a few rares.

4th option would be triggers, but Shirona's trigger are FAR too expensive, and they never came back in rotation in casino soooo...

Remember, the drop rate for this thing is abysmal, so either brace for PSO1 levels of farm, or just buy it, really

They're normal passives. It doesn't matter which stance you're in.
