I generally vote as a symbolic gesture. My state allows write-ins, which is nice during presidential elections.

Not much of consequence to me this midterm, but I'll be voting against my incumbent Congresswoman (she'll win anyway), and voting against the insurance industry on initiative 11-0072.

Depends on where you live in the US regarding the state level.

On the national level, the mid-terms elections are being touted as whether or not Democrats could lose their majority in the Senate and/or Democrats can take some seats from the Republican-led House of Representatives. Should be interesting to see personally.

I'll vote for my district's Green Party candidate even though it will almost certainly be a waste of time.

No, and I'm not even really sure who's running yet. So unless one of the candidates really jumps out and catches my attention (either negatively or positively), I'd probably just end up voting along party lines which is a horrible way to vote.

Though I have to admit I'm really hoping Barney Frank would run in the next presidential election. I'd like to see him elected so that we can hear the phrase "Mr. President and the First Husband"... just to see some fucking heads explode. Though the more I think about it, I do think he would make a pretty decent President.

Well this state I'm living in (and want to leave so bad) is pretty blue. So obviously, my token vote for the Republican will be in vain.

Well, I usually just root for whoever is for things like freedom/equal rights for all, and stuff like that which would benefit more people indiscriminately.
