hell, forget about issues like lag or being superior areas to grind, lets talk game balance. sega cant balance 12 person content or even 4 person content, what makes you think they can balance 50+ people content?

/Falz Hunar spawns in the MPA
/MPA Zerg rushes him to death before he can even get off his ground slam, let alone draw his sword.

    Yes but on 1 condition

It's a single mission type and you get Space Bikes

I dunno about open world, but I really want a mission type that's made of consistent interconnected areas.

Sort of like the way TAs are set up but bigger and being less about simple memory puzzles.

I like the idea, but imo it just wouldn't work in this game.

I think pso2 would have been a better game if it was made open-world from the start:
-maps that feel less like repetitive corridors and more like some land
-better integration of players, ennemies and npcs in the world.

But I'm realistic and I know It won't happen.
The developpers of pso2 made the choice to have everything utterly basic and simple in pso2: the netcode is prehistoric, the bloc system (bloc 1, bloc 10, bloc 27 instead of lobbies, area1, time attack, boss, etc) is complete junk, even the interface is basic.
So yeah, the game have technical limitations and they will not be able to transform it into an open-world game.

Some people seems to think it is simply impossible, it is not.
Of cours if you only take the exemple of the classical fail asian mmos it will feel impossible. But if you look at the sucessfull western games you know its not. I'll take 2 example: The elder scroll online for the great open world and planetside 2 for the ultra dynamism in epic massive battles; it IS possible but it's out of the grasp of the pso2 dev and decision teams .

I won't vote: yes it out of context and no is the only realistic option.

pso2 woulda been a better game if it had any map design at all outside of a handful of EQs and TACO, instead we got random grids reskined for each map.

Actually there are quite a few unique features for each area. All I really want is a map or large series of maps where I can feel like I'm going somewhere.

Like a free field for the whole planet that maybe has a few specific configurations like some of the EQs and with more than 3 areas.

The amount of "BUT THEN IT WON'T BE LIKE PSO" votes made me involuntarily roll my eyes.
