Default My impressions on playing PSO2 on the vita

Some things I feel that PSO2 is not meant for handheld gaming. First thing are the controls. I can't tell you how painful it is to coordinate your character mid combat. Quests and E trials that would take a few minutes can take up to an hour because of this. Second is the hardware limitations. Well of course that little gaming console won't match the specs of that beefed up rig sitting on your battle station expect massive drops in performance when you go into highly populated maps and mob appearance.

It's nice that we can play pso2 on the go but I feel there is no point porting it for the vita for the reasons above.

Right now I am trying to make my experience on the vita as easy as I could but so far game itself isn't making it simple as I would if I played it on the PC.

So, vita users how do you deal with this?

It's mostly used for gaming on the go, where you can't haul your computer with you. I don't think it was meant for heavy use, considering how much more limited the hardware for the game is.

It's sufficient enough to catch up on some EQ's. Not the most efficient way to do them, but it does allow you that access to the game and its content despite the limiting factors.

I think the problem is lack of button customization, you can't freely remap them while on PC you can, and you can't use the back touch screen as buttons when the game has many actions that don't fit in the Vita buttons. They announced NOVA will be compatible with Vita TV, maybe they will do the same with PSO2 and at least you will be able to play with a dual shock.

    Actually you can.
Go to Options > first option > then choose Custom preset カスタム.

I love the vita version, except I cannot play it anymore after ddos

They did a pretty good job on porting the game into vita i'd give them that. But sometimes playing with 3fps makes me go omfg though (harukotan eq plis). I'm pretty satisfied with the controlling for vita, not sure why you guys saying it lack luster though, it's enough to use

Either they added it later or I was blind when I first played it and never again checked that option again. But the lack of a second right trigger is still gamebreaking on TPS mode, and the use of the back panel could solve that problem.

Yeah, they added it later. And again yes, the fact that the back panel goes unused is pretty sad when they have the set up to configure it.

If you want a plan B, do like I did. Install PSO2, install it on a surface pro and play it when you're else where. Sure the settings will need to be on low, but on a small screen, who cares.
