Anga also doesn't have a rare version, unlike this new enemy. There's no unknown area in the works at the moment ... perhaps this Phantom Rex is a new boss in the vein of Chrome Dragon? Story-related boss, doesn't belong to any particular area, etc..
It could be a sub-boss for the DpAbyss, as well. It doesn't seem to be an ultimate enemy, considering even Anga has Ult prefix.

Like I said, Anga doesn't necessarily set the standard for the rest of the enemies in its category. Chrome Dragon follows the same "adjective_dragon" naming convention as the other boss dragons even though it's an odd one out, too. Instead of magma_dragon or blizzard_dragon, it's just berserk_dragon.

I am kinda leaning toward the possibility of it being a story based boss though. The absence of the Ult prefix spells out quite clearly it isn't an Ultimate enemy, so it's obviously going to serve a different purpose (would have liked to see it in Ultimate Amduscia, but that doesn't look like it's planned). Looking at what we know

1) Anga Fundarge is (all but stated) from the same timeline as the Profound Darkness
2) Anga Fundarge corrupts the areas around itself to form Ultimate areas
3) Dark Falz [Abyss] is almost certainly related to the Profound Darkness
4) Dark Falz [Abyss] is Matoi

I see four possibilities

1) PhantomRex is a non-Ultimate enemy that devastates normal areas (think Deviljho)
2) PhantomRex is related to Dark Falz [Abyss] or more directly to the Profound Darkness
3) Both
4) New enemy unrelated to either

4 would be boring though.

EDIT: I forgot, "Dark Falz [Abyss]" is actually the Profound Darkness, never mind that. Just replace mentions of that with the Profound Darkness.

Oh dear lord that lobby music, it just keeps looping and it sucks.

Still doesn't tell use how many Gold to get a Weapon. If Ult Lilipa is any indication, I'd say at lease 200 Gold.

I'm just glad it's not "City Escape"; it listening to it over and over again in the lobby is torture and drives one insane.

All it does is remind me of when I actually played Lost World. And I had pretty much forgotten this theme even existed because I liked some of the other music that was played.
