The problem was I was having the problem before I downloaded the pre-patch. The game was working fine yesterday, now it crashes with a pso2.exe error after I select a character.Originally Posted by Jaquecz

Off the top of my head I honestly can't think of any reason you aren't able to play.
The last time I was in an issue like yours I went through my everything looking for any kind of file related to PSO2 and deleted it and then reinstalled the game only after making sure nothing related to PSO2 remained on my computer.
The other fix is to delete item_cache.dat from the same folder that Logs folder was in.

Delete the "SEGA" folder from your "Documents".That should fix it.

If you are crashing after selecting a character:
Delete the PHANTASYSTARONLINE2 folder located in Documents\SEGA, ie. the one where screenshots are saved. Make sure to backup your screenshots, logs, and salon files before doing so. Launch the official launcher to recreate the folder, then reset your resolution and graphics settings. You'll also have to change some in-game settings again, like meseta auto-pick up.
