Process idling and all around slow

Ever since the last update, pso2.exe just stops working (goes idle) at random moments. Just after a logo (after the Sega one, after the nvidia one...), when I'm approaching a shop, or during tekking, or when I try to go to some planet, or between phases in the last EQ (yay...).

I thought I'd do a file check but instead of needing like 8 minutes as usual, it has been going on for 20 minutes and still needs another 6 or so *hours*.
So, there's something wrong.

Now, could it be Npro related? I haven't seen an update there in a while on PSO2, but Pangya recently did something there.

You might want to run a disk error check if you are suddenly taking that long to do a file check. It could be the sign of a failing HDD.

Defraggler Pro says "No problem detected".
I will try defragmenting, will do a copy of the drive just in case.

You could try to see if your machine can restore the bad sectors by scanning the disk and allowing it to attempt to repair them (right click the drive>tools>error-checking), but otherwise, yeah, you're most likely going to need to replace the drive.

I did that and it didn't find any errors.
The PSO2 file check ran for almost 8 hours but after that I had no problems playing.
Let's see what happens tomorrow.
