In Regards to height

Let me show you a webpage that might open your eyes as far as height goes.

One of the things about me is that the girl I love most is the same height as myself, 5'6 in real life.
If you were to enter 5'6 in this site, you would get the following percentiles:

U.S Adult (5'6)
Male: 12.9%
Female: 78.4%

Of course this is a Japanese game, so what happens if I actually enter the same values for Japanese?

Japanese Adult (5'6)
Male: 28%
Female: 91.3%

These Percentiles mark where we fall on height. My fiancee in Japan would be considered to be taller than 91.3% of girls in the nation, while in the United States, 81.9% of adult males (nearly 7 out of 8 males) are taller than me.

I am short for my height as a male, but I've actually liked my height... so no qualms about it.
However, for the girl I love... its amazing the kind of conditions that have to exist for two people to be of the same height...
...and I am a guy who likes a developed girl my height or taller.

Anime Height, Scaling, and Implications

Interesting thing enough is that if we look at the anime Sailor Moon, we look at Sailor Jupiter's Height...as she is considered tall as a 5'6 girl... and she isn't even fully grown. So its interesting when we look at a character and relate it to what each of us perceive of what average height is. 2 inches makes a different. The Global Average Height of a woman is 5'2, while the American Average Height of a woman is 5'4. Modelling Height in the Industry is 5'6+ which is interesting considering we just went through New York Fashion Week (which seeing it I had mixed feelings about it).

So what is so important about height and scaling?
The U.S being multicultural and an immigrant nation actually had a lot of clothing for people of many heights and some shapes. The four baselines are used for women, while the one baseline is used for males. If you were to be in the 90th percentile or higher as far as height goes, then it becomes dangerously tough to actually find clothes for you to wear. When I went to Spain in August with my fiancee. Her height percentile there was 85%. She told me that she doesn't have to worry.

We went shopping since it was her first time there and no girl should ever leave a nation without spending some time shopping there. It turned out of the eleven major stores we went to, there was nothing found that would fit her. What happens is that for women clothes are made to fit the Average height +/- an inch to cover all shapes to that effect... So what happens is that lets say a girl goes out and buys a bra... lets say something along the lines of the three average cup sizes of the world which are 34B, 36C and 36E depending on where you are. The sizes are correct for a girl, but the height-scale is not taken well into account. So basically the bra fits a girl who is between a certain height, but over it might fit, but still look small. This is the main issue that happens with tall girls and why a lot of custom-made clothing (Couture) is made.

PSO-2 and Couture

Of course Couture is interesting...
In PSO-2 all clothing fits the size/shape of the body regardless whether it looks good or bad.

The definition of Couture is clothing made directly for you that is completely custom made. When one buys a product line in a store that reads "Couture" its not truly Couture. This means if my fiancee is 5'6 and clothing is made for her. It means that her size, weight, body, everything is taken into account. If she buys a fashion line that reads Couture on it, it means it was Couture for a model, but not for her. In short, a deception of its own. PSO-2 has proportions taken into account which makes it interesting.

Thankfully I know the places in the United States where one can custom-make clothes and I know about making clothes as well, along with my family and friends.... since we are both cosplayers.

I haven't written a long post in a while, and I felt as its a fashion thread it was worth putting it here.

Even though I wasn't as good as you guys were but just saying that really gave me more confident. *Smiles*

@Zephyrion, The good times, when you could look a mage but you were actually a hunter in disguise. lol. Those were the times. I should get some old stuff out with all these new modification I think i could make a few here and there tweaks. By the way Red on your character is wondrous, like how you took Theo first costume and the his current to make that transition. At first I didn't see it but then I was, Oh Now that is clever..

@TenebriS, Okay TenebriS you asked for it and Now you are gonna get it (as requested); I'll beat your fashion one of these Days. And also I am still Thankful for when you help me make my first character. You spent time helping me come up with the foundation for a good-looking model; Even though you didn't have too. You many not remember it but that model help me to make all these photos. It was the corner stone for 80% of my designed. So.....Anyway enjoy.
