Ship 2 has the most english players. For better or worse. I believe ship 4 is where 4chan hangs out. Ships 8 and 10 apparently have english populations too, but I don't know as much about that.

Ah yes this is a real pain for sure. Use this: http://www.lexilogos.com/keyboard/hiragana.htm

Try to select the right symbols then copy and paste it in to the box. It may take a few tries. Believe me I know.

I would also recommend doing a side-by-side window approach using Google Translate's Handwriting tool if you are having trouble with lexilogos. Even using a laptop trackpad, you can usually draw out the captcha in less that a minute.
