Default PSO2 Soundtracks - Missing Notes in tracks.

Does anyone attempt to compare the OST's with the ingame BGM's? I've realized how the OST version are missing some part in a lot their tracks in the track.

Try Comparing both Nursery Probes with the ingame ones and you'd realize how a lot of notes went missing in the OST version.

Also realized that both Hymn for the IDOLA The Immortal Wing and Profound Darkness theme, their end note of Whole New World just went missing, what's the deal with that? Is Sega ripping people off by not including those notes in?

OST version of Resonant Catastrophe seem to have less bass and/or beats in the background compared to ingame tune. It feels awkwardly empty now.

They note that it's due to how sympathy works, so it's more of a "perfect" mix than an actual extension of in-game.

Music is extremely abstract to the point it must be shaped in order to be of any use. An OST is a work derived from an Urtext or Master Work which is used as a basis for adapting the work to the media it is paired with. It is not the original composition itself. The work can be varied for use across different mediums or forms.

Sadly the ost music is a victim of the conversion process to CD quality. If you take a look at some of the waveforms you'll see the audio peaks at times. The raw game diles are the only thing that doesn't have this problem. (probably the 48khz to 44.1khz conversion that's doing it.) Plus there's no way the ost could cover all of the Sympathy variations. If it did each ost would be some 15-20 discs long.
