Article: PSO version 2 and PSO 2 News

HI there, Myau1 here. My brother, who works for Sega called me a few nights ago with some disturbing PSO news. The first he told me was that PSO version 2 is coming to the U.S. but that it will not be arriving until fall of this year. Apparently the buzz around there is October. The second news was about PSO 2. According to him, PSO 2 is currently in development for the Playstation 2 and is schedueled for a fall 2002 release. While all this news came from a Sega employee, it should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but the news does seem to make a whole lot of sense.

As long as PSO2 remains in development for the DC it's not an issue.

When I attended the Game Devlopers Con in late march, the fine folks at the sega booth mentioned that PSO2 would be coming out late this year for the DC and Ver 2 would more likely be out this summer.Also Sonic Team has announced the PSO2 is going to be released for the DC, so I wouldn't worry that it'll be a PS2 exclusive.
im not sure a PS2 release is wise for fall 2002,as the brainiacs at sony STILL havent got a Net infostructure for the PS2 up yet. But if they do, by early next year us DC owners will hopefully get PSO2 and then have more folks visit us with their PS2s by the fall/winter of 2002...sounds like a win win situation...

pso might just become a multi playtform online game, ive heard from some friends in japan, that sonic team might just be makeing pso2 for GC as well, but alot sooner than 2002,

famitzu mag mentioned somthing about ver.3 in the works in japan already. for the DC

since its going to be released in japan on may 15th or 20nd whenever now it should be in america in either late june or early july I hope so too because I cannot go much longer without this game it owns all!!!!!!!

FIVE months to translate a game that's in english to begin with? I don't buy it for a second. As for PSO 2 for the PS2, I hope there are separate servers. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see cross-console peace and harmony just as much as the next guy, but somehow I don't see it happening that way.

We're entitled to our opinions just like you are =P. I won't say the PS2 sucks because I don't own one or have any desire to ever purchase one. And as long as its developed for any other platform I'll still get my fix.
