Default Article: Phantasy Star Online 2 Revealed in Sega's TGS Video Stream!

Viewers of Sega's live video stream from the Tokyo Game Show were the first to catch a glimpse of Sega's upcoming Phantasy Star game for 2011, Phantasy Star Online 2! The surprising reveal took place at the end of a montage which showcased every Phantasy Star game from the past 10 years and also included a peak at Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity, which was recently revealed as well. While no actual game footage was shown, a logo for Phantasy Star Online 2 did appear at the end of the video, along with some basic information indicating that the game would be released sometime in 2011 (presumably in Japan) for the PC.

It looks like this is indeed PSO's 10th Anniversary surprise that many were hoping for and we'll likely be finding out more once Sega releases an official statement. We're obviously very excited about this news and will post further details about PSO2 as we get them. In the meantime, check out the the full video HERE (Posted at SegaBits) and feel free to drop by the PSO-World Forums where an active discussion is already taking place about this awesome news!

Update: a new, high-quality version of the video is available at Sega's new Phantasy Star Portal web site. Check it out here!

    Default I hope this isn't PSO/PSZ's

I hope this isn't PSO/PSZ's game engine with better graphics. PSU was a good upgrade if you ask me, they just had to carry over the epic feel PSO had. So let this NOT have the same dry gameplay, ploxorz.

AYY. All you nillas days is numbered.

    things pso2 needs.
    large explorable worlds.
room decorating needs to be enhanced, more items and don't use a grid system please.
    mission zones.
give us citys with more exploreability!
    new weapons!
    new mags!
    new races!
tons of clothing! artists who are not color blind! (im looking at you shirt that lists purple and yellow but is black and green>.>)
keep elements but don't rely on weaknesses, use mob types like in previouse games, dark, beast, machine, ect.
use old grinding system! not psu's.
dont use psy's crafting system, if you add a crafting system be fair.

Default This is like a dream come

This is like a dream come true!
Sure PSU was good, and so was PSZ, but they weren't hard enough. I think that was one of the charms of the old PSO. You didn't just sit down and level too 200 in a few days, you hand to work for it.
I agree with Goldbrease, change some things, but keep the core. it was good that way.
Most of all, though, keep the style. I want to see Dark Falz as PSO fans know him. I like the extra races of PSU, but thats PSU. Stick to the original three races. And the three class types. Don't give an option to switch, or in anyway change your class. That was part of the fun, having a variety of what team members can do, though, maybe weaken the Force a little.
