Have you tried a file check? Also, the only sound issues I've ever had with Windows 10 were from not having pre-DirectX 10 files properly installed, so maybe reinstalling those might help.
Reinstalling the old DirectX stuff worked after I restarted my computer. I encountered the no-sound problem last month when I first got my new computer, and fixed it by downloading something like this (or perhaps it was this exact same thing; I don't remember), but I didn't think I'd have to reinstall it again after Windows updated with its recent large patch.
