That's a shame. $50 for a new race. Ahah. You know what I mean.
Where/when was it confirmed? During a Live Broadcast?

That does seem to be the case...
    25 x 200 = 5000AC = 5000 yen = expensive in whatever your currency is

Absolutely not. The entire bonus scratch as a concept is a slap in the face.

Its a legal version of what they wanted back in the beta days. Only you aren't forced to complete a bingo card thanks to the law.

I mean, I really don't want to. I called BS on the concept of scratch frequency bonuses from the very first time they appeared. I'm certainly not keen on the idea of encouraging this and have already done without a few items that have appeared as scratch frequency prizes in order to avoid doing so. But Beast face...this is like my one weakness. It's my chance to finally recreate Johann Launcher in his proper PSU incarnation. I really just don't know.

Way back when in PSO2's open beta days, the scratches came with an additional feature. If you obtained one of each featured item from a particular card, you would get an exclusive prize. Scratches were still as random as ever though, so getting that item was basically straight up gambling since even just one item could block you. Since it was open beta, we were all playing with fake AC, so it was no skin off our noses, but the implication was that obtaining these prizes in the future could easily cost hundreds of dollars for people who wanted them. Before the game went live though, Japan passed a law banning this practice (it was employed by other games), forcing Sega to table it.

Back when the Rappy suit was a new thing, the way you got it was collecting every single scratch item in that scratch. Goal being to get people to scratch more. A new law was made because of it. So to achieve that goal of getting people to scratch more, they now have the bonus scratch. You obviously would have a hard time collecting everything in current scratches. So now its under a set number of scratches instead of a bingo card.

Ah, Xaeris beat me to it.
