PSO2 Officially Launched April 15th for XBOX One; PC Launch in May.

So I looked into it and correct me if I'm wrong but content wise NA looks to be at a mix of Episodes 3 and 4. Story is only up to 3 and maps/EQs are only up to 3 but some of the costumes and such are from 4.

It's even weirder. They have pretty much the full course of class balance updates it seems and from what I understand Ark Missions are in which are a Episode 6 Thing.

Reading the pso2 reddit reminds me of the ffxiv normal and shitpost sub and tbh that's not exciting.

I wasn't waiting for 7 yrs. I declared long time ago that this wasn't coming, so I stopped caring.

Edit: However, don't let that rain on your parade. I've been on the PSO boat for 19yrs, I guess there's just nothing left in the series for me to get hyped about.

I really seem to remember reading an official announcement that "When it's not in beta it will have ALL THINGS JP has upon release".
But now, I'm reading all over that it's only going to have 3 years of the start of stuff, but then "reach equality" within the first year with the JP release.

Because this happened and killed like...every single pso after Gamecube (Starting with what, CARD battle?) before this eventually??
PSU ruined after they wouldn't fix the (nobody on here remembers)/repeated the contest over again
Xbox had the Moatoob mechs that would crash the game
Etc.
DCPSO and GCPSO had the servers combined, you could just choose USA ship or JP ship and that went fine, I think CARD didn't have the Japanese ships in there to choose from and it was the first one where you couldn't play together.

If the servers are split, it seems like they'll swear up and down "elsewhere will get the jp content" and then it never happens.
Then updates magically fall behind or stop or 'go on hiatus' for 'reasons'
Because NA or EU always gets some sub-standard team that doesn't care about it / allows hax /whatever

And it's like...yea its a free game and I could get it for the PC and all but...
I have no confidence in their ability to actually keep delivering on the content? I don't want to invest my time again and re-level my guys? It's free to play but that's a ton of time to dump into something where you've been burned so many times before.

Is this final confirmation of permanently separate servers / we will never be able to visit NA ships?

1. they never announced nor agreed to International servers, it was NA (eventually EU despite EU players complaining about a game that they won't get banned for since they'll just add EU players to NA anyways just like in the past) only from the get-go

2. theres a lot of content they want the NA audience to experience while basically 80% of it is obsolete or pointless (NA will likely never experience the Burning Rangers EQ where you put out fires and escort civilians in E-Trials) and they want to ease them in slowly. It sucks but its the route they're taking which is what I didn't want because another PSU content catch up issue can happen again

3. this isn't exactly aimed at you but others who have the same worry. if you REALLY feel like you're going to waste your time playing NA in fear of never catching up in content (because hey, it can happen), then your obvious safe bet is make a JP account and continue there with the English patch downloaded along with keeping up with the latest content.
