And that's the biggest difference between vanilla PSO2 and vanilla NGS. Back then we were all new. Now, we've been playing this for years. This both creates expectations regarding content, and means we are generally better at the game so can clear what is available faster.
I got what you were saying; I've been watching new players as well, since I made a couple friends try out the game. They didn't have many gameplay questions(interface was another story), and picked up things pretty quickly. Plus we may have been PSO2 beginners back then, but not Phantasy Star in general, at least not me.

Yeah, I'd say PSO2 was different enough from earlier Phantasy Star games (in terms of gameplay, mechanics, etc) that skills don't really transfer over. The difference between PSO2 and NGS is much smaller.

To each their interpretation, I guess. It really struck me when I tried out Katana Braver in both games. I had been playing for months and months in PSO2 yet still had to practice, experiment, learn timings, etc. I think it took 5 to 10 hours of gameplay to get a solid handle on it. In NGS on the other hand, it took roughly an hour before I felt I had seen what there was to see. Granted, it's the same class in name, but I think I can argue that they're pretty distinct(enough people complained about it).
It happened with others as well, but to be fair those are similar enough that past knowledge plays a big part.

OG PSO2 had more random stuff and repeatable stuff , i remember back in EP2 and 3 i used to do Hans missions alot by doing a tour trought the free fields daily in order to gain EXP

why NGS doesnt have that just for gain EXP with secondary chars , like go and kill 300 enemies in mount magnus or go to x part and collect certain mineral or any other resource , hell not even repeatable missions like deliver a package to the old Jenkins who lives in west Aelio :P

New Genesis feels like an empty DLC, the visual and gameplay revamps are very welcomed but overall it feels like a Beta of an unfinished game... Also for such small MMO experience my server is unplayable with numerous significant lags making it very unpleasant for a game relying on action combats.
