For the sake of anyone who might be interested (and wasn't already made aware of this):

BraveWave Productions has been releasing an eclectic array of video-game music (all officially sanctioned), through the independenet digital music platform known as BandCamp.

This unique record label describes themselves as "exploring the interplay between videogames, music and nostalgia."

But, in my opinion, they succeed in more than that!

In addition to offering official sources to support video-game music-composers from both the "indie" scene, as well as providing a place to acquire soundtracks from classic series (including those of SEGA), BraveWave's most awesome accomplishments have been creating an outlet for composers to create ORIGINAL music, done in their VGM style, without any of the creative constraints that an actual game game might impose!

Saori Kobayashi (of Panzer Dragoon Orta & AZEL~PanzerDragoonRPG~) in particular, has brought new soundscapes into existence thanks to BraveWave, which may have never manifested for our aural pleasure otherwise!

The perfect examples of this are the solo album "Terra Magica",
as well as the second AKANE album she did with Yumiko Takahashi (of Suikoden), entitled "JOURNEY":

Those two both receive my personal recommendations, but BraveWave didn't stop there!

Saori was also brought back for "Resurrection: Panzer Dragoon Saga 20th Anniversary Arrangement",
in addition to "Panzer Dragoon: Remake The Definitive Soundtrack".

So if you enjoy the sound-style of the Panzer Dragoon/Crimson Dragon series, then there's quite the cornucopia to check out!

*ahem*

And despite not having been part of SEGA, the music composer for MegaMan named Manami Matsumae ALSO got her own solo album, which was cleverly divided into three triads of new music, each exploring her own various composition styles, entitled "Three Movements".

Beyond that, there's another release worth pointing out for anyone with fondness for the Ecco The Dolphin series!

"Jupiter & Mars" isn't officially connected with Ecco, yet there are certain qualities, even beyond utilizing dolphins as the main characters, which certainly elicit similar appeal as found in the underwater world we explored on the Genesis/MegaDrive.

All great stuff!

Now, before concluding this post, I thought it couldn't hurt to ask a pair of questions:

1.) What classic VGM OSTs would you like for BraveWave to make officially available?

(I know my main choice would be the soundtrack to Vectorman 2.)

2.) What VGM composer(s) would you love to hear NEW, ORIGINAL music from? Specifically done in the same spiritual-sequel solo-album format that both "Terra Magica" & "Three Movements" were envisioned as?

(Again, my choice would be the Vectorman music-composer, Jon Holland.
And he does still create progressive-house music, so I know he hasn't lost his touch:

So? How about your pick(s)?
